September 6, 2011—TORONTO, ON—Mercatus Technologies, a software development company delivering cross-channel marketing capabilities to the retail industry, announces the appointment of Rick Laanvere, P. Eng., as Vice President, Sales & Marketing. In this role, Rick will build strong relationships with customers and channel partners, and will develop strategies to drive revenue growth in North America. Rick holds a substantive management track record. Prior to joining Mercatus, Rick served as Director of Sales & Support for Sandvine Incorporated. He also has extensive senior management experience building and leading sales and marketing teams at Rapid Access Solutions, Jetstream Communications, and Alcatel. Prior to 1993, Rick held numerous engineering roles within Northern Telecom.
